The importance of mobile hospitals has increased due to COVID-19, and the demand for mobile hybrid CT (Computed Tomography) has surged to optimize point-of-care. In the operating room, equipment for various purposes such as general radiography imaging (RAD), fluoroscopy (Fluoro), and tomography is required, and the flow of the medical staff becomes complicated.
The design of this mobile 3-in-1 CBCT scanner is free from the limitations of the existing stand-type scanner as can be rotated and moved in a limited space to optimize the access of the medical staff in the operating room. Limitation of patients’ move and accessibility of medical staff in the operating room is the core value of the design. For example, vascular interventional therapy and surgery can be operated simultaneously with scanning, to focus on patient protection. The compact design considered the medical staff’s flow and environment of use so minimized the volume of the lower fixed part and the dead space on the side of the gantry to facilitate movement. This allows an increase in the bore’s size, so helps to scan larger areas and reduce patients’ claustrophobia. The priority design was patient-friendly.
